Resolution 12339 RESOLUTION NO. 12339 WHEREAS, Miami Beach once again will be the locale of a major motion picture . . . "THE LADY IN CEMENT", produced by 20TH CENTURY FOX and ARCOLA-MILLFIELD PRODUCTIONS, and starring FRANK SINATRA; and, WHEREAS, this new film promises to be as popular and successful as its recent predecessor, "TONY ROME", which was filmed in Miami Beach last year and which generated tremendous national publicity for our City; and, WHEREAS, "TONY ROME" told the Miami Beach "story" in colorful and glamorous terms, through brilliant photography and exciting action . . . and undoubtedly motivated thousands of movie-goers throughout the country to visit our City; and, WHEREAS, "THE LADY IN CEMENT" will again focus nationwide interest and attention on Miami Beach . . . giving impetus to its growing reputation as a motion picture and television center of major stature. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Miami Beach extend a most cordial welcome to the "LADY IN CEMENT" company . . . and offer the courtesy and cooperation of our community and its citizens in facilitating this production. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution become part of the permanent records of the City of Miami Beach and a copy presented to 20TH CENTURY FOX and ARCOLA-MILLFIELD PRODUCTIONS as a tangible token of our very warm and sincere appreciation.
