Resolution 12345 RESOLUTION NO. 12345 WHEREAS, the Auditorium and Convention Hall facilities of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, are presently being utilized for many activities both commercial and cultural ; and WHEREAS, the City Council is cognizant of the needs of the community for cultural events as well as the importance of establishing Miami Beach as a convention and television capital ; and WHEREAS, the City Council has before it a request to use the facilities of the Miami Beach Auditorium for expanded television pro- ductions which, if approved, would preclude the use of said facility for cultural activities during this period; and WHEREAS, current requests have established the need for a theatre of performing arts in the City of Miami Beach; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Council hereby goes on record as declaring that the primary use of the Auditorium and Convention Hall facilities shall be for cultural activities, and does hereby express its intention to explore all avenues so that both the cultural needs and the commercial needs of the citizenry can be met in a manner satisfactory to all .
