TZORCHEI TZlBUR AWARD RECEIVED BY OFFICER MIKE HOCHSTADT
This Letter to the Commission is to inform you of the presentation of the Tzorchei Tzibur
award to Officer Mike Hochstadt of the Miami Beach Police Department by the Merwitzer
Mesivta, Yeshiva Elementary School and Mechina High School at their 42nd annual
Scholarship Dinner on May18th.
Officer Hochstadt is a trained hostage negotiator, drug recognition expert, DUI operator,
crisis intervention officer and also serves as a liaison to the Jewish community for the
Miami Beach Police Department. In his liaison capacity, Officer Hochstadt has assisted
many community members in a wide variety of situations involving problems or
misunderstandings. He is also called upon when an observant person passes away while
on vacation in Miami Beach and the out-of-state family has difficult arrangements to make.
In the twenty-two years Officer Hochstadt has been with the Miami Beach Police.
Department, he has consistently taken the extra effort to be active in our community and
"go the extra mile" at every opportunity. He is to be commended for his incredible
dedication and professionalism. The City of Miami Beach is fortunate to have individuals
of such high caliber serving our community.
