Resolution 11750 RESOLUTION NO. 11750 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE UNITED STATES VETERANS ADMINISTRATION TO APPROVE AND PROVIDE CEMETERY FACILITIES IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA FOR QUALIFIED VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES. WHEREAS, there are no cemetery facilities available to qualified veterans and their families in the Dade County area, and WHEREAS this occasions undue expense to families of quali- fied veterans and imposes unnecessary hardship upon them finan- cially for travel and transportation costs to distant facilities, NOW; THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the United States Veterans Administration approve and make available to Dade County quali- fied veterans and their families suitable and proper cemetery facilities in an appropriate location within the State of Florida. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida that certified copies of this Resolution be transmitted to Senator Spessard L. Holland; Senator George A. Smathers; Congressman Dante Fascell; Congressman Claude Pepper; and to the appropriate officials of the United States Veterans Administration.
