SUBJECT: PARKMOBILE APP / RESIDEN DISCOUNT FEATURE — STATUS
The purpose of this LTC (Letter to Commission) is to provide information regarding the
glitch on the resident discount via the ParkMoblile App that occurred with their
November 15th, 2018 upgrade. The glitch created an error message for iPhone users
who downloaded the upgrade and attempted to access the residential discount on the
ParkMobile App. The glitch was corrected on November 28th, 2018.
Residents had other methods of paying for parking that applied their resident discount
while this issue was resolved, such as:
• Over 750 parking pay stations citywide accepting multiple payment options,
including credit cards (same as ParkMobile), bills and coins
• By visiting the ParkMobile website on their phones and paying through website
• By calling ParkMobile's toll-free number at (877) 727-5714 to pay via automated
system
We asked and ParkMobile agreed, to offer Miami Beach residents some "benefit" to
compensate for the inconvenience they experienced. A promotional code is available to
residents and will provide them with a limited time one-time promo of up to $5.00
equating to up to five (5) hours of parking. ParkMobile has been advised that moving
forward, any software updates must be communicated to the City prior to issuance and
tested in a controlled environment utilizing the Miami Beach parameters.
Any resident that may have received a parking citation during the outage is also eligible
for an administrative dismissal of the citation.
