Resolution 12432 RESOLUTION NO. 12432
WHEREAS, from May 1-5, 1968, Mr. Morris Lansburgh, in
cooperation with eight major airlines and 11 national tour operators,
zo-hosted 2,100 leading travel agents at the "Miami Beach Travel
Showcase ' 68, " and;
WHEREAS, this was the third consecutive year that major travel
agents and sales personnel were invited to Miami Beach for a
"familiarization" visit, with transportation and hospitality provided
by the co-hosts, and;
WHEREAS, during their stay, these guests attended seminars
?evoted to the development of the Miami Beach tourist market and
visited the outstanding facilities and attractions of the area, and;
WHEREAS, this project generated much good will and enthusiasm
for Miami Beach among the travel agents -- who play such a vital
role in our economy -- and this, undoubtedly, will result in
increased vacation travel to our City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Miami
Beach pay fitting tribute to Mr. Morris Lansburgh and the cooperating
airlines and tour operators, for their outstanding contribution to
the promotion of tourism to Miami Beach and the South Florida area.
AND, FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED that this resolution become part
of the permanent records of the City of Miami Beach and copies
presented to Mr. Lansburgh and the co-sponsors of "Miami Beach
Travel Showcase '68, " hcrein listed, as a tangible token of our very
warm and sincere appreciation: Red Top Sedan Service; Sans Souci
Hotel; Cadillac Hotel; Air Canada; Delta Air Lines; Eastern Air
Lines; National Airlines; Northeast airlines; Northwest Airlines;
Trans World Airlines; United Air Lines; Admiral Travel Service
