Resolution 12435 RESOLUTION NO. 12435
WHEREAS , at its regularly convened meeting held
on the first Wednesday of June, 1968, the City Council of
the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and all its citizens and
residents united in prayer for the recovery of United States
Senator Robert F. Kennedy from the grievous wounds inflicted
upon him, and
WHEREAS , at said meeting, the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, unanimously resolved that the
family of the said Senator Robert F. Kennedy be appropriately
informed and advised of the deep and fervent prayers of the
entire community in this regard, and
WHEREAS , during the preparation of an appropriate
resolution in that regard, the Supreme Divine Being saw fit,
in Its infinite wisdom, to call said Senator Robert F. Kennedy
to his everlasting and eternal abiding place, thereby bringing
to an end a noble career dedicated to the alleviation of the
lot of the needy, the underprivileged and the oppressed
throughout the world, and
WHEREAS all the people have reason and occasion
to be forever grateful for the immeasurable devotion which
the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy manifested for humanity
and its causes,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that it be made
known to the family of the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy
that the entire City of Miami Beach, Florida desires to
express its measureless admiration for the noble precepts
exemplified by the life of the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy,
and that all of the people of the City of Miami Beach, Florida
are most profoundly grateful for his permanent contributions
to the welfare of the people of the United States and of the
world, and that they will forever continue to look upon his
life as being a shining exemplification of the desire of the
American people to perpetuate peace, brotherhood and justice
throughout the world.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of June, 1968.
