Resolution 12438 RESOLUTION NO. 12438 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON MAY 28, 1968, AND DECLARING THE RESULT TO BE FOR THE APPROVAL OF THE ORDINANCE KNOWN AS ORDINANCE NO. 1688, PASSED AND ADOPTED ON ITS THIRD AND FINAL READING ON THE 6TH DAY OF MARCH, 1968. WHEREAS, the City Council has made a canvass of the returns of the certificates of the Inspectors and Clerks who held and conducted the Special Municipal Election on May 28, 1968, for the approval or disapproval of Ordinance No. 1688, such canvass having been made solely, exclusively and entirely from such returns; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that we do hereby find and declare that the total number of votes cast in saiJ election frr the approval of said Ordinance No. 1688 and the total number of votes cast in said election against the approval of said Ordinance No. 1688 were as follows: For approval or disapproval of the following question: "Shall the ordinance known as Ordinance No. 1688, passed and adopted on its third and final reading on the 6th day of March, 1968, and entitled 'An ordinance granting to Mall Transport, Inc. , A Florida Corporation, and to its successors and assigns, the right to use that portion of Lincoln Road lying west of the westerly line of Washington Avenue to the easterly line of Alton Road, otherwise known as the Lincoln Road Mall , and any future easterly and/or westerly extension of said Mall on said Lincoln Road, in the City of Miami Beach, and its successors for and during a period of five (5) years, for the purpose of establishing, operating and maintaining a vehicular transportation system for transport- ing ransporting passengers for compensation, in conformity with and subject to all provisions, terms and conditions herein recited' be approved or disapproved?" 8,972 votes were cast, of which 7,393 were for the ordinance and 1 ,579 were against the ordinance BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we do hereby declare that the ordinance known as Ordinance No. 1688, passed and adopted on its third and final reading on the 6th day of March, 1968, has been duly and legally approved by the voters as provided by law.
