Resolution 11798 7 RESOLUTION NO. 11798 WHEREAS William C. Johnson, while he was employed as a police officer for the City of Miami Beach, was injured on January 1, 1964 when the police car in which he was riding was involved in an accident, and WHEREAS the City of Miami Beach furnished the said William C. Johnson hospital benefits, medical benefits and Workmen's Compensation payments until he moved from the Dade County area, and WHEREAS the City of Miami Beach has pending a Workmen' s Compensation Subrogation claim against the third party tort feasor, and WHEREAS William C. Johnson, through his attorneys, has filed a claim against the City of Miami Beach for additional Workmen' s Compensation benefits, and WHEREAS the said claim is controversial as to extent of disability, and WHEREAS the said William C. Johnson, through his attorneys, has offered to settle such claim on a lump sum washout basis for $2,000.00, plus cancellation of the Workmen's Compensation Subrogation Lien against the third party tort feasor, plus a reasonable fee for his attorneys in the amount of $500.00, and WHEREAS the City Attorney has recommended entering into a Stipulation for such lump sum washout settlement, and WHEREAS it is deemed to be in the best interests of the City of Miami Beach and the injured employee to enter into such Stipulation for settlement, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the City Attorney be and he is hereby directed to enter into a Stipulation for the settle- ment of the Workmen's Compensation Claim of the said William C. Johnson in accordance with the terms set forth above. PASSED and ADOPTED this 16th day of March, 1966. , , „ .
