A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT
OF A FULL-TIME POLICE ATHLETIC LEAGUE
COORDINATOR; PROVIDING FOR DUTIES ; PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS there exists in the City of Miami Beach, the
need for a full-time Coordinator of the activities of the
Police Athletic League (a non-profit corporation) , to promote
the public safety, health, education and welfare of the
children of this City, and
WHEREAS it is desirable and necessary that such full
time Coordinator, of the activities of the Police Athletic
League, be a member of the Miami Beach Police Department,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1 : That it shall be the duty of the Chief of Police
to appoint a Police Officer as full-time Coordina-
tor of the activities of the Police Athletic League (a non-
profit corporation) , with such coordination to be his sole
duty and, with such duty, to be to supervise and coordinate
the activities of the children in the Police Athletic League
Program; and such duty to continue on a year-round basis.
The provisions of this resolution shall become effective
thirty (30) days from the date of its passage.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 20th day of April, 1966 .
