Resolution 11865 RESOLUTION NO. 11865
WHEREAS it has been brought to the attention of the City
Council of the City of Miami Beach that the owners of many par-
cels of real property within the City of Miami Beach have been
notified by the Tax Assessor of Dade County, Florida that there
has been an increase in the assessment of their respective
parcels for the year 1966, and
WHEREAS it has also been brought to the attention of the
City Council of the City of Miami Beach that the Tax Assessor
of Dade County, Florida has not yet completed the 1966 assess-
ment of all the real estate in the City of Miami Beach, and
WHEREAS many property owners in the City of Miami Beach
have not therefore been able to receive information as to the
assessed value of their real property for the year 1966, and
WHEREAS the date for filing an appeal from the assessment
of the Tax Assessor of Dade County to the Dade County Board of
Ecualization is imminent,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Board of County Commis-
sioners of Dade County, Florida be requested to extend the time
for the filing of an appeal from the assessment of the Tax
Assessor of Dade County, Florida to a date which is thirty (30)
days after the said Tax Assessor has completed his assessment
roll so as to enable the owners of real property in the City of
Miami Beach to have a reasonable time to file an appeal from
the assessed value set by the Dade County Tax Assessor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this reso-
lution be distributed to each member of the Metropolitan Dade
County Commission, to the Metropolitan Dade County Manager and
to the Metropolitan Dade County Tax Assessor.
