A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
i4 ANI BEACH, FLORIDA, FINDING AS TO THE NUMBER
OF FREEHOLDERS LEGALLY .LU/'L I F I ED TO PARTICIPATE
IN THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD NOVEMBER 5, l958; CAN-
VASSING THE RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION AND
THE RESULT TO BE AG1INST THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS
IN THE TOTAL SUM OF $1 ,200,000.00 FOR THE PURPOSE
IN THIS RESOLUTION STATED.
WHEREAS. the City Clerk and Finance Director in her capacity as
Supervisor of Registration of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, has certi-
fied that the total number of freeholders legally qualified to participate
in the Special Election held in said City on November 5, 1968, was 9,240 ,
and
!-IHEREI,S, the City Council has made a canvass of the returns of the
certificates of the Clerks and Inspectors who held and conducted said
Special Election held on November 5, 1968, such canvass having been made
solely, exclusively and entirely from such returns,
NOt•!, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
M•iiami Beach, Florida, that we do hereby find and declare that the total
number of freeholders who were qualified electors residing in said City
and who were determined by the City' Clerk and Finance Director to be
legally qualified to participate in the Special Election held in said
City on November 5, 1968, was 9,241 and that a majority thereof
participated in said election, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we do hereby find and declare that the
total number of votes cast in said election in favor of the approval of
bonds and the total number of votes cast in said election against the
approval of bonds were as follows:
UPON THE nUESTION:
Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in
the amount of $1 ,2.00,000.00 with interest at a rate to be hereafter
determined, not exceeding 6% per annum, for the purpose of acquiring the
following described parcels of land situate in Miami 3each, Dade County,
Florida, to wit:
The North 85 feet of Lot 1 , and all of Lots 2, 3 and 4, FLAMINGO
BAY SUBDIVISION NO. 1 , according to the Plat thereof, recorded
in Plat Gook 6 at Page 101 of the Public Records of Dade County,
Florida;
said parcels of land to be acquired for STREET, PUBLIC PARK AND OTHER
MUNICIPAL PURPOSEST
6,453 votes were cast of which 2, 133 were For Bonds
and 4,320 were ",ga i ns t Bonds
and
WHEREAS , a majority of the total number of freeholders who were
qualified electors residing in said City, and legally qualified to
participate in said Special Election, did vote therein, and

I , RUTH B. ROULEAU, City Clerk and Finance Director of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, being the proper registration officer having charge of the
registration books for the Special Election had and held on the 5th day
of November, 1963, in said City, do hereby certify that on the 4th day of
November, 1968, I certified a list of all qualified electors appearing on the
registration books who were determined to be freeholders residing in said
City and who were determined to be qualified to vote in said election and
that said list contained 9,055 names.
I FURTHER CERTIFY that since the 4th day of November, 1968, and prior to the
closing of the polls at said election, there were added to said list the
names of 185__ persons who proved to be qualified freeholders.
I FURTHER CERTIFY that said list of qualified freeholders, as amended as
aforesaid, is a complete list of such freeholders who were qualified to
participate in said election and that such list contains 9,24) names.
I FURTHER CERTIFY that pursuant to the provisions of Section 3 of Resolution
No. 12556 , I did, on November 5, 1963, furnish to the Clerks and
Inspectors at every voting place where such special election was held on
said date a list of qualified electors who were freeholders residing in
said City of Miami Beach who were entitled to participate in said election.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the official seal
of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, on this the 6th day of November, 1968.

!!HEREIS, a majority of the votes cast on the ".uestion were ?gainst
the approval of the bonds.
NOi,f, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we do hereby declare that the
issuance of bonds in the aggregate sum of $1 ,200,000.00 as set forth
and provided for in the ";uestion as described in this resolution,
has been disapproved by the voters.
PISSED and ADOPTED this 6th day of November 1968.
