WHEREAS the OPTIMIST CLUB OF IVES ESTATES has heretofore
been using a portion of the property owned by the City of Miami
Beach in the unincorporated area of Dade County and commonly
known as the City Ojus Dump Property, under an oral agreement
whereby said Optimist Club used the same for recreational pur-
poses by the youth, and other groups in the area, and
WHEREAS the parties mutually desire that the said oral
agreement be reduced to writing and setting forth the terms and
conditions whereunder the said Optimist Club may use the said
property, and
WHEREAS the City Attorney has prepared a proposed agreement
whereby the said property is leased to the said Optimist Club
for a term of one (1) year, with the option to renew the same
for additional periods of one (1) year at the will of the par-
ties, and further setting forth the terms and conditions where-
under said property is leased to the said Optimist Club, and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach is
familiar with said terms and provisions, and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach deems
it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of
the City of Miami Beach that said agreement be entered into,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Mayor and the City
Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute
the said agreement with the said Optimist Club of Ives Estates
for and in the name of the City of Miami Beach.
