Resolution 11886 RESOLUTION NO. 11886 WHEREAS George King, while employed in the Park Department of the City of Miami Beach, suffered a Workmen 's Compensation injury on June 1, 1964 for which injury medical treatment was furnished and Workmen 's Compensation disability payments were made, and WHEREAS the said George King has heretofore filed a claim for additional Workmen's Compensation disability payments and a controversy exists as to the entitlement for any additional earning capacity disability compensation payments, and WHEREAS the attorney for the said George King has offered to settle the controversy and end all litigation on a lump sum washout basis for the sum of $675.00 for the said George King and the sum of $225.00 for the said attorney, and WHEREAS the City Attorney has recommended the acceptance of such offer, and WHEREAS it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Miami Beach as well as the former employee to enter into such agreement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the said settlement offer calling for the payment to the said George King of $675.00 and $225.00 to the attorney for the said George King be and the same is hereby accepted, and the City Attorney is hereby autho- rized to enter into the said settlement agreement by and on behalf of the City of Miami Beach, and the proper financial officers of the City be and they are hereby authorized and directed to make the payments called for by the said offer of settlement.
