Resolution 12608 RESOLUTION NO. 12608
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, has determined to construct a South Shore Community
Center, and
WHEREAS it is necessary to employ an architect in
connection with the construction of said community center,
and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
has determined that it is in the best interest of the City
of Miami Beach and its inhabitants to employ Mr. Morris
Lapidus as such architect for said purpose, and
WHEREAS the City Attorney has prepared an agreement
for the employment of the said Morris Lapidus, whereby
the said architect agrees to perform the required services
for a fee in an amount equal to 8% of the total cost of
the project, exclusive of land and landscaping, but not
to exceed the sum of $23,000.00, and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
is familiar with the provisions of said agreement,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and
the City Clerk and Finance Director be and they are hereby
authorized and directed to execute the said agreement in
the name of and on behalf of said City, and the disbursing
officers of the City are hereby authorized and directed
to disburse the monies required by the terms of said
agreement from funds of the City available for such purpose.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of January, 1969.
