SUBJECT: Hispanic Affairs Committee f
The Purpose of this Letter to the Commission (LTC) is to inform the Commission of a Motion
passed by the Hispanic Affairs Committee at their September 10, 2018 meeting.
Members Present: Alex Fernandez, Gabriel Paez, Luz Angela Diaz, Grace Calvani, Jon Barrio
Members Absent: Francis Trullenque, Rosary Plana Falero
MOTION:
Urging the City of Miami Beach to allocate full funding on an annual recurring basis for
the North Beach senior meals program operated by Unidad of Miami Beach; if Unidad is
able to secure partial or full funding from the Alliance for the Aging or any other outside
funding source, then any remaining unused city funds may be allocated by the City
Commission towards other senior activities. The priority of these funds shall be the full
funding of the North Beach senior meals program.
