A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, COMMENDING JEROME G.
GREENE FOR EXEMPLARY PERFORMANCE OF DUTIES
AND STELLAR CONTRIBUTION TO GOOD MUNICIPAL
GOVERNMENT.
WHEREAS , the electorate of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, on the 18th day of November, 1969 , in its profound
wisdom, duly elected the Honorable Jerome G. Greene to the office
of Councilman of the City of Miami Beach, Florida; who served in
said office with superlative distinction and supreme brilliance
until January 1, 1973, at which time he sought election to high
judicial office , for which he was and is most eminently qualified,
and
WHEREAS , the decision of the said Honorable Jerome G.
Greene to seek judicial office resulted in a profound and
immeasurable loss to the City Council of the City of Miami Beach;
to the electorate of the City, and to the cause of dedicated
public service, and
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
for itself, and each and every member thereof, and the electorate
and citizens of the said City desire equally to take formal and
official cognizance of the matchless and superb manner in which
the said Jerome G. Greene performed in infinite problems and
complex duties and responsibilities as a Councilman of the City
of Miami Beach during the period of November 18 , 1969 through
January 1 , 1973;
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH , FLORIDA, for itself, for each
individual member thereof, and for the electorate of the City
of Miami Beach, that they do hereby express their most profound
gratitude and appreciation to the said Jerome G. Greene for his
warm, pervasive, and all comprehending understanding of the
problems of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and for his display
of unmatched tact, tireless and self-sacrificial industry and
peerless diplomacy which achieved an era of mutual cooperation,
benefit and public achievement without parallel in the history
of this community;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the contributions and achievements
of the said Jerome G. Greene for the betterment of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, and of its citizens and residents be
forever enshrined in the official records and inscribed in the
annals of the City of Miami Beach where they will serve as a
shining source of eternal inspiration for all those who come
after him, because it may truly be said of him as of Sir Thomas
More that he is truly "a man for all seasons" ;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a suitably engrossed copy of this
commendatory Resolution under the seal of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, be officially presented to the said Jerome G. Greene,
with appropriate ceremony , with the profound expression of the

warmest sentiments of abiding appreciation from the City Council
of the City of Miami Beach as a body and from each individual
member, and the Mayor thereof, and from each resident, citizen,

service performed by said Councilman Jerome G. Greene.
