A RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINDINGS OF SPECIAL
AD HOC COUNCILMANIC COMMISSION THAT THERE
IS A NEED FOR A SUPERIOR TYPE OF NURSING
HOME IN MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS , the City of Miami Beach has a large
resident population of elderly people, many of whom require
extended care away from home, and
WHEREAS , facilities in Miami Beach tend now to be
cost-conscious , and
WHEREAS , there are residents who need extended care
and desire superior accommodations and services and cannot
presently find these facilities on Miami Beach, and
WHEREAS , a spouse, if there is one, because of
advanced age and the hardships of travel, is forced to make
fewer visitations to the afflicted partner, and
WHEREAS , such fewer visitations bring to the resident
of the nursing-home a sense of depression and abandonment, and
WHEREAS , a special committee appointed by the City
Council of Miami Beach has found that there is a need for such
a superior type of nursing-home facility in Miami Beach;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that said findings
of its said Committee be and the same are hereby approved and
affirmed.
