A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH TO
RETROACTIVELY ACCEPT A DONATION FROM THE SETAI
HOTEL, IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $1,125, FOR THE ART
BASEL MIAMI BEACH ANNUAL OFFICIAL LUNCH HELD
ON DECEMBER 6, 2018, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO MAKE ANY
NECESSARY REIMBURSEMENTS AND/OR
EXPENDITURES OF THE AFORESTATED DONATIONS AND
SPONSORSHIPS IN FURTHERANCE OF, AND
CONSISTENT WITH, THE AFORESTATED EVENT AND
PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, in 2018, the City of Miami Beach is hosting the Art Basel Miami Beach
Annual Official Lunch ("Art Basel Annual Lunch"); and
WHEREAS, Art Basel Miam Beach brings thousands of residents and tourists together
to enjoy internationally recognized contemporary public art, art-related events, and engages
the community in projects that promote art and culture to our citizens and tourists; and
WHEREAS, the City secured a sponsorship from The Setai Hotel to off-set the cost of
the Art Basel Annual Lunch; and
WHEREAS, the Administration recommends that the City Commission approve and
authorize the acceptance of the aforestated sponsorship, in'the total amount of $1,125, from
The Setai Hotel.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby approve and authorize the City of Miami Beach to retroactively accept a
donation from The Setai Hotel, in the total amount of $1,125, for the Art Basel Miami Beach
Annual Official Lunch held on December 6, 2018, and authorize the City Manager, or his
designee, to make such expenditures or reimbursements consistent with the aforestated
event and purpose.

Adopt the resolution.
ANALYSIS
In 2018, the City of Miami Beach is hosting the Art Basel Miami Beach Annual Official Lunch. Art
Basel Miam Beach brings thousands of residents and tourists together to enjoy internationally
recognized contemporary public art, art related events, and engages the community in projects that
promote art and culture to our citizens and tourists. The City secured a sponsorship by The Setai
Hotel to off-set the cost of the Annual Lunch.
CONCLUSION
The Administration recommends that the City Commission retroactively approve and authorize the
City's acceptance of the donation from The Setai Hotel, in the amount of $1,125, for the Art Basel
Miami Beach Annual Official Lunch held on December 6, 2018, and authorize the City Manager, or
his designee, to make such expenditures or reimbursements consistent with the aforestated event
and purpose.
