A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 74-14487,
CREATING THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH COMMISSION ON
THE STATUS OF WOMEN, TO DELETE THEREFROM THE
PROVISION THAT MEMBERS , WHILE SERVING, SHALL
NOT BECOME CANDIDATES FOR ELECTION TO ANY
PUBLIC OFFICE.
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, received the recommendation of the Charter Review and
Revision Board that Resolution No. 74-14487, creating the City of
Miami Beach Commission of the Status of Women, be amended so as
delete therefrom the provision that members of said Commission on
the Status of Women shall not become candidates for election to
any public office; and
WHEREAS , the Commission on the Status of Women has
presented said question to the City Council and asked that the
City Council amend the' resolution so as to delete such provision;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Resolution No. 74-14487 be
and the same is hereby amended so as to delete from the first
paragraph of said Resolution the following sentence: Members ,
while serving, shall not become candidates for election to any
public office.
