RESOLUTION NO. 76-14961
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH CREATING THE MIAMI
BEACH REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, AND SETTING
FORTH THE MEMBERSHIP THEREOF, AND ITS
POWERS AND JURISDICTION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, that pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 163, _
Florida Statutes, a public body corporate and politic known as the
Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency be and the same is hereby created.
Said Redevelopment Agency is authorized and empowered to administer
and exercise the community redevelopment powers of the City of
Miami Beach in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 163,
Florida Statutes . A Board of Commissioners of said Miami Beach
Redevelopment Agency is hereby created. Said Board shall consist
of five (5) commissioners, and the term of office of each such
commissioner shall be one (1) year. The powers of the Miami Beach
Redevelopment Agency shall be exercised by the said Board of Com-
missioners . Said powers shall be exercised by the Board of Com-
missioners in the manner set forth and specified in Section 163.425,
Florida Statutes . Said commissioners shall be residents of the
City of Miami Beach. No commissioners or other officer of the
Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency shall hold any other public office
under the City of Miami Beach other than his commissionership or
office with respect to said Redevelopment Agency. The following
• are hereby appointed, and shall constitute the first Board of
Commissioners : James McDonnell, who is also hereby designated as
Chairman ; Stephen Muss , who is also hereby designated as Vice
Chairman; Irwin Sawitz; David Klevens ; and Max- Seruhuck.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 17th day of February, 1976.
