A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH METROPOLITAN DADE
COUNTY FOR GRANT APPLICATION TO STATE DEPART-
MENT OF HEALTH AND REHABILITATIVE SERVICES
FOR EMERGENCY RESCUE SYSTEM.
WHEREAS , Metropolitan Dade County has offered to enter
into an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Miami Beach in
accordance with the terms and provisions of an agreement between
Metropolitan Dade County and the Department of Health and
Rehabilitative Services of the State of. Florida, whereby the City
of Miami Beach will be enabled to purchase, on an equal participa-
tion basis, one (1) rescue vehicle, one (1) portable Defibrillator,
ans seven (7) handi-talkie portable radios , for use by the City of
Miami Beach Fire Department Emergency Medical Service personnel,
at an estimated cost of $28 ,475 , of which the State of Florida,
by and through Metropolitan Dade County will pay $14 , 238; and
WHEREAS , an appropriate Interlocal Agreement to be
entered into by Metropolitan Dade County and the City of Miami Beach
has been prepared for said purpose, the form of which has been
approved by the City Attorney, and the terms and provisions of which
are familiar to the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City
Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute and
deliver said agreement for and in the name of the City of Miami
Beach and the proper financial officers of the City be and they are
hereby authorized and directed to make disbursements of the City
funds required by said Interlocal Agreement for the purposes there-
in set forth.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 18th day of February , 1976 .

INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
THIS INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT, made and entered into this _
day of 1//01 , l996 , by and between METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY,
• hereinafter called the "County" and the CITY OF MIAMI BEACH
hereinafter called the "City; "
WITNESSET H:
WHEREAS, the improvement of the emergency medical services
delivery system on a County wide basis is a matter of joint concern
• to the. parties of this Interlocal Agreement who desire to effect
the most economical and feasible plan to provide proper emergency • •
medical care to Dade County residents;
NOW, THEREFORE,
In consideration of the premises and covenants set forth, the
parties do mutually agree as follows:
I. PURPOSE OF CONTRACT
The purpose of this contract is to provide for the implementation
of a program to improve the delivery of emergency medical services
in Dade County pursuant to a contract between Dade County and
Florida Division of Health. Essential communications and rescue
equipment will be added to current inventories of various service '
providers in Dade County. •
II . COUNTY' S PARTICIPATION
The County agrees to administer the attached contract and budget
which are hereby made a part of this Interlocal Agreement. Upon
receipt of invoices and/or other financial documents deemed necessary
and proper by the County Finance Department, the County will
reimburse the City for expenditures made pursuant to the budget and
program described in the attached contract between the County and the
State of Florida. All such payments are subject to the availability
of State funds identified in the attached contract.
III. CITY' S PARTICIPATION
IV. INDEMNIFICATION
The City agrees to indemnify, defend, save and hold harmless
the County, its agents and employees, from any and all claims of
whatever nature arising out of or because of this agreement.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the County has caused this contract to be
duly executed in its behalf, and thereafter the City has caused same
to be duly executed in its behalf this 18th day of February
19 76.
