A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF OFFER
BY AETNA CASUALTY AND SURETY COMPANY, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $130 , 204 .42, IN SETTLEMENT OF DEFAULT
IN ACCOUNTS OF CITY CASHIER, VINCENT MURPHY,
WITH BALANCE OF CITY 'S LOSS OF $6 ,538. 36 TO BE
RECOUPED BY APPROPRIATING THAT AMOUNT FROM
MR. MURPHY 'S ACCUMULATED LEAVE WITH THE CITY.
BE TT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, that the offer made by Aetna Casualty and Surety
Company, in the amount of $130,204 . 42, in settlement of the default
in accounts of City Cashier Vincent Murphy, as recommended by the
City Manager and the City Attorney, be and the same is hereby
authorized, approved and accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Attorney be and he is
hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver the required
Release and Assignment to said Aetna Casualty and Surety Company
upon receipt of their draft in the amount of $130 ,204. 42 , payable
to the City of Miami Beach.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the balance of the City 's loss ,
i.e. , $6 ,538 . 36 , is to be recouped by the City by appropriating
that amount from Vincent 'Murphy ' s accumulated leave with the City.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 17th day of March, 1976 .
