Resolution 76-15000 i0" • • RESOLUTION NO. 76-15000 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT AND THE TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT OF METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY TO INSTALL A PEDESTRIAN ACTUATED TRAFFIC SIGNAL ON CHASE AVENUE BETWEEN NORTH BEACH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND ALEXANDER MUSS PARK WITH ALL POSSIBLE SPEED AND DISPATCH. WHEREAS , it has comeeto the attention of the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that traffic conditions on Chase Avenue between North Beach Elementary School and Alexander Muss Park pose a grave a-nd'imminent threat to the safety of school children pedestrians traversing Chase Avenue between North Beach Elementary School and Alexander Muss Park, and WHEREAS , it has further come to the attention of the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that a school child has already been injured because of lack of appropriate and needed traffic control devices at said location, and WHEREAS , the City Council has found and determined that in order to prevent further accidents to pedestrian school children at said location, and to insure a maximum degree of protection to said school children, it is necessary and immediately imperative that an appropriate pedestrian actuated traffic control device be installed on Chase Avenue between North Beach Elementary School and Alexander Muss Park};. with all immediate urgency, speed and dispatch; NOW, THEREFORE , BE'T-IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Metropolitan Dade County and its Public Safety Department and its Traffic and Transportation Department be and they are hereby earnestly urged and requested to install such traffic control signal at said location with all possible urgency and dispatch, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that copies of this resolution shall be transmitted by the City Clerk forthwith to the Mayor and Members of the Metropolitan Dade County Commission, the appropriate Department Heads of said Metropolitan Dade County, and to Dade County Manager Ray Goode.
