Resolution 76-15003 RESOLUTION NO. 16=15003 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH URGING THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DADE COUNTY TO ADOPT AN ORDINANCE WHICH WOULD RESTORE THE STRICT STANDARD FOR SULFUR DIOXIDE WHICH WAS IN EFFECT PRIOR TO OCTOBER 30 , 1975 . WHEREAS , clean air and sunny skies are major resources which attract visitors to Miami Beach, and WHEREAS , tourist services constitute the principal industry of this community ' s economy and provide employment to a large proportion of the working population, and WHEREAS , the State of Florida has removed previous strict standards for sulfur dioxide in the air of Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties , and WHEREAS , Dade County has the right to establish its own standards which are stricter than those of the State, through Home Rule authority; NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the said City Council hereby urges the Board of County Commissioners of Dade County to adopt an ordinance which will restore the strict standard for sulfur dioxide which was in effect prior to October 30 , 1975 . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a certified copy of this Resolution shall be transmitted to the Board of County Commissioners of Metropolitan Dade County.
