A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THE UNITED
STATES HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES SUB-COMMITTEE ON
APPROPRIATIONS EXTEND FAVORABLE CONSIDERATION
TO RELEASE EMERGENCY FUNDING IN THE EVENT OF A
HURRICANE STRIKING MIAMI BEACH.
WHEREAS, the inherent dangers to life and property on Miami
Beach caused by a hurricane are a well known fact; and
WHEREAS, the effect of a major hurricane on the lives and
property of the citizenry of Miami Beach would be devastating; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach would be in great need of
federal funding to assist in rebuilding the City in the event a major
storm should strike the area ; and
WHEREAS, the United States House of Representatives Sub-
Committee on Appropriations provides funding for areas struck by
Hurricanes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Commission of the
City of Miami Beach hereby requests the United States House of
Representatives Sub-Committee on Appropriations to give favorable
consideration to release funding in the event of a hurricane striking
the area.
