A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZTNG EXECUTION OF
AGREEMENT WITH DADE COUNTY EXTENDING
AGREEMENT ENTERED WITH DADE COUNTY
UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE FEDERAL
MENTAL HEALTH ACT.
WHEREAS , DADE COUNTY and CITY OF MIAMI BEACH entered
into an agreement on May 5, 1971, under the provisions of City
of Miami Beach Resolution No. 13278, providing for the utiliza-
tion of Federal aid under the Federal Comprehensive Drug Abuse
Program, and
WHEREAS , said agreement provides CITY OF MIAMI BEACH
with three staff members at the cost and expense of the Program,
and was extended thereafter to the fiscal year 1974-1975, and
WHEREAS , DADE COUNTY has requested that said agreement
be formally approved and extended from the 1st day of January,
1975 to June 30, 1976, and
WHEREAS , it is in the best interests of the City of
Miami Beach and its residents that said agreement be extended
for the said period of time, and
WHEREAS , the City Manager has recommended the granting
of said approval;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the existing agreement
hereinabove referred to be and the same is hereby approved, rati-
fied, confirmed and extended to June 30, 1976, on the same terms
and provisions as set forth in the original agreement .

AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT WITH
OPERATION RE-ENTRY UNDER
STAFFING GRANT NO. 5 HI9 DA00378
This Amendment to AGREEMENT entered into this 7th day of
Apra 1 , 1976, by and between Metropolitan Dade County,
�, hereinafter referred to as County, on behalf of its Rehabilitative Services
Division's Comprehensive Drug Program, hereinafter referred to as "Program", and
Operation Re-Entry of the City of Miami Beach, hereinafter referred to as
"Agency".
WITNESSETH:
A. That the County and the Agency entered into an agreement
effective January 1, 1975 to provide for outpatient treatment
services for residents of Dade County.
B. The parties now mutually agree that:
Section I: Sub-section A #10 be amended so as to read, "The
minimum number of persons, at any one time receiving such
services herein described shall be twenty (20) and the services
shall be delivered from January 1, 1975, through June
30, 1976'!.
Section II: Sub-section A.#1 be amended so as to read, "To
provide two drug abuse counselors and a chief drug abuse
counselor, as set forth in the Grant. The salaries and fringe
benefit costs to be paid to the employees herein shall be in
accordance with the approved County Pay Plan and not to
exceed the amount set forth in the grant. The total cost from
January 1, 1975, through March 31, 1975 is not to exceed
$8,660.00 and from April 1, 1975, through June 30, 1976, the
cost is not to exceed $45,527.00".
Section VIII: is to be ammended so as to read, 1°That the term
of this AGREEMENT shall be for a period of eighteen months
from January 1, 1975, to June 30, 1976, and may be renewed
for a period of one year, at the option of the County and with
the consent of the Agency upon the same terms and conditions
as set forth herein. Notice of such option shall be given in
writing by the County Manager to the Agency not less than
thirty (30) days prior to the expiration of the term1°.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF the parties hereto have executed these
presents by their respective proper officers duly authorized thereunto, the day and
year first above written.
