Resolution 76-15037 RESOLUTION NO. 76-15037 A RESOLUTION SIGNIFYING INTENT OF CITY COUNCIL TO SUBMIT PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO POLICE AND FIRE SYSTEM, WHEREBY REDUCED BENEFITS WILL BE OFFERED TO THOSE COMMENC- ING EMPLOYMENT ON OR AFTER JULY 1, 1976 ,. TO A VOTE OF THE ELECTORATE IN SEPTEMBER, 1976 . WHEREAS, the City Council has heard the recommendation of the Budget Advisory Committee of the City of Miami Beach, as to providing reduced pension benefits to firemen and policemen commencing employment on or after July 1, 1976 , and WHEREAS, the City Council has duly considered such recommendations and finds that there will be a savings to the City through the payment of such reduced benefits, and WHEREAS, it has been deemed that the proposed amendment to the Police and Fire System must be sub- mitted to the electorate of the City of Miami Beach before such amendment can be effective; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that it hereby signifies its intent to submit such proposed amendment to the electorate at an election to be held in September, 1976.
