A RESOLUTION APPROVING, IN PRINCIPLE, A POLICY
WHICH WOULD, SUBJECT TO APPROPRIATE PROCEDURES
BEING DEVELOPED BY THE ADMINISTRATION, CITY
ATTORNEY AND MIAMI BEACH REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY,
TO PROVIDE THAT THE MIAMI BEACH REDEVELOPMENT
AGENCY ASSUME THE EVENTUAL RESPONSIBILITY OF
THE MARINA DEVELOPMENT.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami
Beach, pursuant to the authority granted to it by the Community
Redevelopment Act of 1969 as amended, created the Miami Beach
Redevelopment Agency to carry out its powers under the aforesaid
act; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of Miami Beach, by
Resolution No. 77-15283 approved the Redevelopment Plan of
the City of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Marina is included in the
Redevelopment Plan for the City of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, conveyance to the Miami Beach Redevelopment
Agency of the right, title, and interest in Miami Beach Marina,
and delegating the responsibility for the development, construction
and operation of said Marina to the Miami Beach Redevelopment
Agency is the most feasible way in which to implement the portion
of the plan with respect to the Marina;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Miami Beach Redevelop-
ment Agency, subject to appropriate procedures being developed by
the Administration, City Attorney and Redevelopment, shall assume
all responsibilities for the development, construction and opera-
tion of the Marina.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 1st day of February, 1978.
