A RESOLUTION APPROVING IN PRINCIPLE THE CON-
TINUATION OF CONFERENCES BETWEEN THE MIAMI
BEACH REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND THE UNITED
STATES ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS REGARDING USE
OF CORPS PROPERTY AT SOUTH END OF MIAMI BEACH.
WHEREAS, on February 15, 1978, the members of the Miami
Beach City Commission were advised that there have been meetings
between the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency and the United States
Army Corps of Engineers with respect to the use of the property
situated at the south end of Miami Beach referred to as the Corps
of Engineers ' property comprising 14 acres more or less, and
WHEREAS, the members of said Commission have also been
, advised that meetings have been held to discuss the future use of
the property in accordance with the development plan for the South
Shore area approved by the City of Miami Beach, and
WHEREAS, a plan has been developed whereby in conjunction
with the use by the City of Miami Beach there would be appropriate
use by the Corps for a headquarters facility and related use, such
plan to be further reviewed and finalized by the parties at interest;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that it hereby expresses its
interest in the continued conferences between the Corps of Engineers
and the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency which will lead to a '
successful culmination of an appropriate arrangement for use of
said Corps property by the City and the Corps of Engineers.
