A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
EXISTING LEASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH AND KAREL EXPOSITION MANAGEMENT.
WHEREAS, the CITY OF MIAMI BEACH entered into a lease
agreement with KAREL EXPOSITION MANAGEMENT, dated May 25, 1977,
and
WHEREAS, said KAREL EXPOSITION MANAGEMENT has requested
an amendment to said existing lease agreement to provide that they
will change the show date of August 30, 1978 to a move out date,
thereby making the use dates as follows:
December 29 , 1977-January 1, 1978---Move , In
January 2-4, 1978 to 4 : 00 p.m. Show
January 4, 1978 to Midnight Move Out
August 24-26, 1978 Move In
August 27-29, 1978 Show
August 30-31, 1978 to 4 : 00 p.m. Move Out
and

WHEREAS, all other terms and conditions of the existing
agreement shall remain the same, except consideration for use of
the facilities shall be changed to:
The lessee hereby covenants and agrees to pay the
rental at the rates which will prevail in 1978,
as approved by the City Commission subject to the
following minimum rentals on above scheduled shows:
Thirty cents ($ . 30) per square foot for net exhibit,
space sold with a minimum guarantee of Five Thou-
sand Dollars ($5, 000. 00) for January, 1978 show and
Thirty cents ($ . 30) per square foot for net exhibit
space sold with a minimum guarantee of Five Thou-
sand Dollars ($5, 000. 00) for August, 1978 show.
Said payment to be made as follows: One Thousand
Dollars ($1, 000. 00) payable on signing of contract,
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. Two Thou-
sand Dollars ($2, 000. 00) payable on or before
September 29, 1977; Three Thousand Dollars ($3, 000 . 00)
payable on or before October 29 , 1977; balance of
January, 1978 show due by 5: 00 p.m. , January 11,
1978 . Two Thousand Dollars ($2, 000. 00) payable on
or before May 24, 1978; Three Thousand Dollars
($3, 000. 00) payable on or before June 24, 1978;
balance of August, 1978 show due by 5: 00 p.m. , Sep-
tember 6, 1978 . It is hereby agreed that the One
Thousand Dollars ($1, 000. 00) deposit paid by lessee
as hereinabove mentioned shall be deemed guarantee
on this show. As each., of the shows is accounted for
between the parties hereto, said deposit of One Thou-
sand Dollars ($1, 000. 00) shall be applied to the next
show for which no guarantee has been deposited,
and
WHEREAS, a letter, signed by the Director of the Miami
Beach Convention,-Center, dated February 22, 1978, amending the
existing agreement between the CITY OF MIAMI BEACH and KAREL
EXPOSITION MANAGEMENT has been mailed to and accepted by said
KAREL EXPOSITION MANAGEMENT;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the said amendment as set
forth in said letter dated February 22, 1978, signed by the Direc-
tor of the Miami Beach Convention Center, to the existing agreement
between the CITY OF MIAMI BEACH and KAREL EXPOSITION MANAGEMENT be
and the same is hereby accepted and approved in the name of and on
behalf of said CITY.
