A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AGAIN CALLING
UPON METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY TO REDESIGN
AND RECONSTRUCT THE BRIDGE OVER COLLINS
CANAL AT WEST AVENUE AND DADE BOULEVARD
AND CONSIDERING INSTITUTION OF LITIGATION
TO COMPEL SUCH ACTION.
WHEREAS, on the 4th day of February, 1976 the City
Council of the City of Miami Beach adopted Resolution No.
76-14959 (copy attached) advising the Metropolitan Dade
County Commission to examine into the immediate threat,
hazard and great danger to the life and limb of all motor-
ists using the West Avenue--Dade Boulevard bridge and
requesting immediate corrective action, and
WHEREAS, such request to our knowledge has failed
to evoke any affirmative or meaningful official response,
and
WHEREAS, the dangerous condition referred to
continues to exist unabated and the risk to the life and
limb of persons attempting to solve the incredibly complex
and confusing maze constituting the traffic pattern for said
bridge continues;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COM-
MISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Metro-
politan Dade County take immediate steps to redesign and
reconstruct said bridge, or that also failing, that appro-
priate litigation be instituted by the City against the
County compelling such action.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 19th day of April, 1978 .
