A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH COMMENDING COMMISSIONER DOCTOR
SIMON WIKLER FOR HIS STELLAR SERVICES AS VICE-
MAYOR OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH. AND EXPRESSING
ENDURING APPRECIATION THEREFOR.
WHEREAS, Commissioner Simon Wikler was by the unanimous
vote of the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
duly elected to the office of Vice-Mayor of the City of Miami
Beach for the term commencing November 1, 1977 and ending on May
1, 1978, and
WHEREAS, Vice-Mayor Simon Wikler performed the duties
of Vice-Mayor and Presiding Officer of the meetings of the Miami
Beach City Commission as a model of distinction, candor, integrity,
keen judgment, and urbanity, and
WHEREAS, Vice-Mayor Simon Wikler, throughout his term of
office as Vice-Mayor, was and is universally respected as a warm,
compassionate personality with a deep and all-pervading- concern
for human rights and justice and accorded to all persons a full
and impartial hearing on all issues without fear or favor in the
proper disposition of the business of the Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, that it does hereby express its special
debt of gratitude and its sense of profound and lasting apprecia-
tion of the Commission and of the people of the City of Miami Beach
to Dr. Simon Wikler for his exemplary services to the community and
the City Commission as Vice-Mayor.
PASSED and UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED this 3rd day of May, 1978 .
