A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, UNALTERABLY
OPPOSING THE CLOSING OF SOUTH BEACH ELEMEN- ,
TARY SCHOOL AND IDA M. FISHER JUNIOR HIGH
SCHOOL.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Dade County School Board be and it
is hereby formally advised that the City Commission of the City of
Miami Beach is unanimously and unalterably opposed to the closing
of South Beach Elementary School and Ida M. Fisher Junior High
School at this time, and that the Dade County School Board is
respectfully requested that no action be taken by it in this
regard until such time as this Commission and said School Board,
or its duly constituted committees, meet jointly to discuss and
determine future plans for modern school facilities in the light
of the vital need therefor in the pending plans for the redevelop-
ment of the City of Miami Beach.
