A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN APPLICATION AND
AUTHORIZING FILING OF SAME FOR FOURTH YEAR
PROGRAM UNDER THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
PROGRAM AUTHORIZED BY THE HOUSING AND COM-
MUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974, AS AMENDED.
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held by the City of Miami
Beach Community Development Committee on December 6, 1977 in
accord with federal requirements to obtain views and proposals
of citizens at the initial stage of application development,
and
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach City Commission on May 17, 1978
held and conducted a public hearing to obtain views of citizens
relative to the contents of the proposed application to the
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development by the City of
Miami Beach for fourth year program funds under the Housing and
Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, and
WHEREAS, at the conclusion of the May 17 hearing, said
application was authorized to be filed in the amount of $2,165,000,
which is the FY 1978-79 entitlement; for the purposes as set forth
therein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that said City Commission
hereby approves the filing of an application with the United
States Department of Housing and Urban Development for Community
Development Block Grant funds under the Housing and Community
Development Act of 1974, as amended and further authorizes the
City Manager of said City to execute and file said application
in a timely manner to comply with applicable regulations for
and on behalf of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, in the amount
of $2,165,000, for said fourth year program.
