A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE REALLOCATION OF
FIVE HUNDRED FORTY-SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS ($546 ,000)
UNEXPENDED SECOND YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUNDS
TO THE MIAMI BEACH REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR THE
PURPOSE OF PLANNING AND ADMINISTRATION FOR THE
PERIOD JUNE 21, 1978 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 1979 .
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that it is in
the best interest of the City of Miami Beach to reallocate the Com-
munity Development Second Year Funds to the Miami Beach Redevelopment
Agency;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the sum of Five Hundred Forty-
Six Thousand Dollars ($546 , 000) unexpended Second Year Community
Development Funds be and the same are hereby allocated to the Miami
Beach Redevelopment Agency for planning and administration purposes
for the period June 21, 1978 through September 30 , 1979 , in accordance
with City Manager' s Memorandum No. 6886 dated May 15, 1978 .
PASSED and ADOPTED this 7th day of June, 1978.

SUBJECT: PUBLIC HEARING ON COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
•
The Community Development Public Hearing on May 17, 1978 is
for two purposes; first, to receive the expressed views of
all interested persons in regard to the Fourth Year Community
Development Block Grant application, and second, to hear per-
sons interested in a proposed reallocation of Community
Development Second Yea.r._.funds,to the. Miami Beach Redevelopment
Agency and or other uses determined by the City Commission.
The list of proposed projects contained within the City appli-
cation, previously distributed to the City Commission, repre-
sents the Administration' s recommendations for project funding.
Attached is a summary and comparison with the recommendations
of the Community Development Advisory Committee.
The Community Development Advisory Committee Chairman prepared ..
and distributed an additional report to the City Commission
regarding the application on May 15, 1978.
The proposed application has been sent to' you under separate
cover on May 10, 1978; additional copies are available if needed.
Included as a part of this agenda item is a recommendation „
regarding funding for the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency and
other possible projects that could also be considered for fund-
ing. •
The Administration recommends that the public hearing be called
and held, together with City Commission discussion following
the hearing; then final action be deferred to the regular, meeting
scheduled ,for June 7, 1978.
