Resolution 78-15644 • RESOLUTION NO. 78-15644 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF AN OFFER OF TITLE IX GRANT FUNDS FROM THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION OF THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT TO DEVELOP A "PLAN FOR ECONOMIC ADJUSTMENT STRATEGY FOR MIAMI BEACH. " WHEREAS, on January 4, 1978, the Miami Beach City Com- mission authorized the City Manager to file an application for a Grant from the Economic Development Administration, U. S . Depart- ment of Commerce to develop a "Plan for Economic Adjustment Strat- egy for Miami Beach" , a prerequisite of a program to provide loan funds for the refurbishing of Miami Beach hotels, and WHEREAS, on May 26, 1978, the City Administration was advised that the Economic Development Administration had approved the City' s request for a Title IX Grant for such study, and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach has estimated that the cost of said project for the development and preparation of the Strategy Plan is $75, 000, and WHEREAS, the Federal Government Grant is $56 ,250, or 75% and the City of Miami Beach share is $18, 750, or 25% , which will be financed from Community Development Funds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City of Miami Beach does hereby accept said grant and that the City Manager is hereby authori- zed to execute the acceptance of the Grant offer in the name of and on behalf of the City of Miami Beach; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Manager is hereby authorized to proceed to request proposals for contractual services from pro- fessional consultants to fulfill the terms of the Grant offer.
