A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER AGREEMENT
BETWEEN METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY AND CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH FOR A TERM OF ONE YEAR COM-
MENCING JULY 1, 1978 THROUGH JUNE 30, 1979
FOR RENEWAL OF AGREEMENT WITH METROPOLITAN
DADE COUNTY UNDER THE FEDERAL MENTAL HEALTH
ACT FOR THE COMPREHENSIVE DRUG ABUSE PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, Metropolitan Dade County and the City of Miami
Beach have heretofore, for the years 1973-74 , 1974-75, 1975-76,
1976-77 and 1977-78, entered into agreements for the operation of
a treatment program denominated Operation Re-Entry, and
WHEREAS, the conduct of said program has been eminently
successful and a continuance of said program is of immensurable
benefit to the citizens of Miami Beach and Dade County, and
WHEREAS, Metropolitan Dade County has received a grant
from the National Institute of Drug Abuse for the funding of said
operation, and
WHEREAS, an agreement has been prepared between Metro-
politan Dade County and the City of Miami Beach whereby the City
of Miami Beach will conduct the operation of said program for the
year 1978-79, and Metropolitan Dade .County will fund such operation
by the payment to the City of Miami Beach the sum of Eighty-nine
Thousand Five Hundred Thirty-two Dollars ($89 , 532 . 00) , and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended to the City
Commission of the City of Miami Beach that the said agreement 'be
entered into, and the City Attorney has approved the same as to
form and substance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Clerk
be and they are authorized and directed to execute and deliver said
agreement for and in the name of the City of Miami Beach.
