A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT
WITH L & M VENDING COMPANY, INC. , D/B/A SMOKES ,
FOR "INSTALLATION AND OPERATION OF COIN-OPERATED
VENDING MACHINES ON CERTAIN MUNICIPAL BATHING
BEACHES , RECREATIONAL FACILITIES AND PUBLIC
BUILDINGS FOR A FIVE-YEAR PERIOD" .
WHEREAS, on August 14 , 1978 , after due notice, bids were
opened for the exclusive right to install and operate at least 33
coin-operated Vending Machines on certain municipal recreation
facilities and public buildings for a five-year period in the CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH; and
WHEREAS, on the 6th day of September, 1978, the City
Commission of the CITY OF MIAMI BEACH determined that L & M VENDING
COMPANY, INC. , d/b/a SMOKES, was the successful bidder for those
certain rights and privileges, referred to as "Installation and
, Operation of Coin-Operated Vending Machines on Certain Municipal
Bathing Beaches, Recreational Facilities and Public Buildings for
a Five-Year Period" , Bid Award No. 98-78 ; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has prepared an Agreement
between the City and the said L & M VENDING COMPANY, INC. , d/b/a
SMOKES, which contains the terms of the Specifications which were
the basis for the said bids, the City Commission being familiar
with the terms of said Agreement; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH to execute the said Agreement for a period of
five (5) years commencing on October 1, 1978 , and ending September 30 ,
1983;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City
Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute
the said Agreement in the name of and on behalf of the said CITY.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 6th day of September , 1978 .
