A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH CREATING AND DESIGNATING
A RECREATIONAL CENTERS AND PARKS FACILITIES
BOARD; PROVIDING FOR ITS MEMBERSHIP; THE
MODE OF APPOINTMENT; AND ITS JURISDICTION,
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a City of Miami Beach Recreational
Centers and Parks Facilities Board be and the same is hereby
created. Said Board shall consist of 14 members to have the
qualifications, the rights, duties, responsibilities, and juris-
diction as hereinafter set forth:
1. Said Recreational Centers and Parks Facilities
Board shall be comprised of 14 members. Each member of the City
Commission shall appoint 2 members.
2 . Members shall be permanent residents and/or registered
voters of the City of Miami Beach, and 18 years or older.
3. The Board shall have the following rights, duties ,
responsibilities and jurisdiction:
The Board shall be charged with the duty and responsi-
bilities to act in an advisory capacity to the City
Commission, City Manager and Recreation Director in
matters pertaining to recreational centers and recreational
parks. Said Board shall cooperate with other governmental
agencies and civic groups in the advancement of sound
recreational centers and recreational park planning and
programming. The Board shall be purely advisory and
recommendatory regarding the programs and services of
said centers and parks.
4. The Board shall meet and organize at the earliest
possible time immediately following its formulation and shall
elect a Chairman and Vice-Chairman who shall hold office at the
will of the Board. Its meetings shall be held at such times and
places as shall be fixed and determined by it, and the Board shall
comply with the provisions of Resolution No. 13248 relative to
attendance and submission of minutes of its meetings. The City
Manager is hereby directed and authorized to furnish, supply and
make available to the Board suitable and proper accommodations for
the transaction of the business of said Board. The Board shall
submit to the City Manager and City Commission interim reports as
to the performance of its duties and responsibilities as hereinabove.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the present Miami Beach Youth
Commission, Miami Beach Youth Economic Commission and Parks and
Recreation Advisory Committee be and they are hereby dissolved; •
this Resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its passage.
