RESOLUTION NO. 78-15758
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACTS BY MAYOR AND
CITY CTFRK BETWEEN THE SOUTH FLORIDA CETA CONSORTIUM, A/K/A
DADE/MONROE COUNTIES MANPOWER CONSORTIUM, AND THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF CERTAIN PROGRAMS UNDER THE
COMPREHENSIVE EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING ACT OF 1973, AS AMENDED.
WHEREAS , the City of Miami Beach, by its Resolution No. 74-14288, as
modified by Resolution 75-14666, entered into an Agreement with the Metropolitan
Dade County for the entering into of contracts and procurement of grants for
unemployment and underemployment projects pursuant to Federal and State
legislation thefor, and
WHEREAS , said Resolutions are in full force and effect, and
WHEREAS , the City of Miami Beach desires to implement and operate certain
work programs, calling for an estimated expenditure of Two Million Nine Hundred
Seventy Eight Thousand Twenty Four Dollars ($2,978,024) to be paid from Federal
'funds received for that purpose, said programs to continue for twelve months ,
commencing October 1, 1978, and
WHEREAS , Metropolitan Dade County, acting as "the South Florida CETA
Consortium" , has approved and agreed to said programs, all as evidenced by written
agreement, the terms and provisions of which are familiar to the City Commission,
and,
WHEREAS , the City Commission deems it to be in the best interest of the
City of Miami Beach, its citizens and residents, to enter into said agreements;,,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA , that the Mayor and the City Clerk be and they are hereby
authorized and directed to execute and deliver said agreements for and in the
name of the City of Miami Beach.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THE 1st day of November, 1978.
