A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO . 13555 ,
• RELATING TO THE MIAMI BEACH HEALTH PLANNING
COMMISSTON , BY INCREASING THE PROVIDER MEMBER
SHIP FROM THREE TO FOUR.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH :

SECTION I : That Section I of -Resolution No. 13555 o'f
the City Councilof the City. of Miami. Beach be and the same is
hereby amended to read :
"That a City of Miami Beach Health Planning Commission
is hereby created . Its membership shall be composed of
ea-Re ten members appointed by the City Council , and
whose term of office shall be two_, years from date of
appointment or until a successor is appointed or quali -
fied , except unexpired terms , in which case the appoint-
ment shall be to the end of the unexpired term only.
Said Commission shall elect one of its members as
Chairman who shall serve for a term of two years . All
members of the Commission shall serve wi-thout pay , but
they shall be entitled to be reimbursed for their
actual expenses . "
SECTION 2:: That Section 2 of Resolution No . 13555 be and
the same is hereby amended to read :
"The members of the Health Planning Commission shall
be comprised of three (3) individuals who are not poten.
Vial recipients of health services that will be provided
for the low and moderate income individuals r e
sidi•.,,g
in the South Beach area ; three (3) individuals from
citizen groups whose membership consist primarily of
persons who will -be recipients or potential recipients
of the health services offered to the low and moderate
income individuals residing in South Beach ; and three
four (4) individuals who are in the business of pro-
VTding or administering the delivery of heal • h care
services ; one to be appointed from among those employed
or associated with each of the major providers within
the City of Miami Beach , those being South Shore Hospi
. _tal , .Mt . Sinai Mgdi cal ,Ce_nte-r, Miami Heart Insti tute
and St. Francis Hospital ; and the teeth eleventh member
shall be the City Physician who shall act as chairman
and member ex officio , and he shall vote only in case
of a tie . "
SECTION 3 : In all other respects , said Resolution as •
previously amended be and it is hereby readopted .
PASSED and ADOPTED this 15th day of November , 1978.
