A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
EXECUTION OF SOUTH FLORIDA EMPLOYMENT AND
TRAINING CONSORTIUM AGREEMENT; AND DESIGNATING
CITY MANAGER AS OFFICIAL CITY REPRESENTATIVE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach desires to continue its
participation in the Federal Comprehensive Employment and Training
Act of 1973, as amended; and
WHEREAS, such participation has been on a consortium basis
with Dade County and neighboring municipalities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach desires to continue said
consortium relationship with the Counties of Dade and Monroe and
the Cities of Miami and Hialeah; and
WHEREAS, an appropriate consortium agreement has been
prepared, designating said consortium as the South Florida Employ-
ment and Training Consortium, and providing for an expiration date
of December 31, 1983, but terminable at will on specified conditions;
and
WHEREAS, the entry into said consortium agreement has
been recommended by the City Manager and approved by the City Attorney
as to legal form and sufficiency;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Clerk
be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute the said
agreement in the name of and on behalf of the City of Miami Beach.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Manager be and he is hereby
designated as the official and duly authorized representative of
the City of Miami Beach in said Consortium.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 6th day of December, 1978 .
