A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND S. Z . BENNETT,
M.A. I. , FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AS CONSULTANT
NEGOTIATOR FOR THE CITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF
ASSISTING IN THE ACQUISITION OF THE PROPERTY
COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE BELCHER OIL COMPANY PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that it is
necessary and essential to retain the services of S. Z. Bennett,
M.A.I. , as Consultant Negotiator for the purpose of assisting in
the acquisition of the property commonly known as the Belcher Oil
Company Property; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has heretofore determined
that it is necessary to acquire said Belcher Oil Company property
for the relocation of various facilities, including the Sanitation
Department, Mechanical Maintenance Operation, and other service
. facilities presently located at the Alton Road Shops and Yards, in
view of the construction of the new City of Miami Beach Marina and
extensive redevelopment plans of the City of Miami Beach Redevelop-
ment Agency; and
WHEREAS, an appropriate agreement has been prepared and
approved by the City Attorney as to legal form and sufficiency; and
the City Manager has recommended that said agreement be entered
into; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is familiar with the terms ,:; .
and conditions of said agreement and deems it in the best interests
of the City to enter into said agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Clerk be
and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute said agree-
ment for and on behalf of the City; and that the financial officers
of the City be and they are hereby authorized and directed to make
the disbursements called for in accordance with the provisions of
said Agreement.
