A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT
BETWEEN MIAMI-DADE COMMUNITY COLLEGE, NEW WORLD
CENTER, AND THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FOR USE OF
FLAMINGO PARK BY SAID COLLEGE FOR BASEBALL GAMES
COMMENCING JANUARY 11, 1979 , TO MAY 1, 1979.
WHEREAS, Miami-Dade Community College, New World Center,
has requested the use of Flamingo Park for baseball games covering
a period commencing January 11, 1979 , to May 1, 1979 , on certain
specified dates during said period; and
WHEREAS, said College shall provide the City with a
schedule of specific events well in advance of same, and it is
understood that said schedule shall not interfere with any City
sponsored activity during said period; and
WHEREAS, a proposed agreement between Miami-Dade
Community College, New World Center, and the City of Miami Beach
has been prepared, and approved as to form by the City Attorney,
and which proposed agreement requires the furnishing of insurance
meeting the City' s requirements to cover the events and proof of
such coverage; calls for Miami-Dade Community College, New World
Center, to compensate the City in the amount of $45. 00 as per fees
and services rendered per game day; and calls for Miami-Dade
Community College, New World Center, to provide to the City
materials and supplies as necessary to maintain the field and
stadium, and for reimbursement to the City for any lighting cost'
in excess of the cost of materials and supplies provided by said
College; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is fully advised in the
premises and deems it to be in the best interest of the City and
its residents to enter into same;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Clerk
be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute and
deliver the said agreement in the name of and on behalf of the
City of Miami Beach.
