A RESOLUTION OF CONDOLENCES FOR THE FAMILY OF
MILDRED PEPPER.
The members of the City Commission of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, duly gathered and assembled this day in regular
session, paused in their proceedings to solemnly observe the passing
of MILDRED PEPPER, a citizen of great, worth and deeply beloved by
the community.
The said members of the said City Commission of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, invoked from the gathered assemblage in the
Chambers of the City Commission to prayer, and to honor the memory of
the said MILDRED PEPPER, and they did, thereupon
WHEREAS, MILDRED PEPPER, wife of Congressman CLAUDE PEPPER,
a citizen of great worth and deeply beloved by the community to which
she dedicated herself to serve, separated from this life on the 31st
of March, 1979; and
WHEREAS, that in the death of the said MILDRED PEPPER, the
entire City of Miami Beach, its residents, inhabitants and citizens,
lament the close of the said MILDRED PEPPER' S long and unequalled record
of self-sacrifice and service to this community, and her altruism beyond
measure to the poor, the needy, and the friendless in this community; and
WHEREAS, MILDRED PEPPER, possessed all of those noble Virtues
which have adorned great women from time immemorial; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that this testimonial of respect
to MILDRED PEPPER be spread upon the minutes of our City Commission,
and that a copy thereof be -furnished by the City Clerk to her bereaved
family with our tender, profound sympathy in their affliction, and
pray that they find comfort in their grief in the thought and reflection '
that the said MILDRED PEPPER fulfilled a most honorable and distinguished
life.
