A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH AMENDING THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE
CONCESSION CONTRACT FOR THE CONCESSIONS AT THE
NORMANDY SHORES AND BAYSHORE GOLF COURSES , SAID
CONTRACT HAVING BEEN AWARDED TO MARION RECREATION
CORPORATION, TO REFLECT THAT THE GOLF CART RATES
FOR BOTH NORMANDY SHORES AND BAYSHORE GOLF COURSES
HAVE BEEN INCREASED TO ELEVEN DOLLARS FOR EIGHTEEN
HOLES AND SIX DOLLARS FOR NINE HOLES; FURTHER
AMENDING SAID SPECIFICATIONS TO REFLECT THAT INSTEAD
OF REQUIRING REPLACEMENT OF THE CANVAS COVERING OF
THE ELECTRIC GOLF CART STORAGE AREA AT BAYSHORE GOLF
COURSE THE CONCESSIONAIRE SHALL ERECT A BUILDING TO
COST NOT MORE THAN $25,000.00 WITHIN WHICH TO STORE
THE GOLF CARTS; AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE
CONCESSIONS CONTRACT FOR THE NORMANDY SHORES GOLF
COURSE AND THE BAYSHORE GOLF COURSE BETWEEN MARION
RECREATION CORPORATION AND THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 78-15723, the City Commission
of the City of Miami Beach awarded the concession contract for' the
concessions at the Normandy Shores and Bayshore Golf Courses to
Marion Recreation Corporation; and
WHEREAS , the concession contract for the Normandy Shores
and the Bayshore Golf Courses has not yet been executed; and
WHEREAS, the specifications for the concession contract
for Normandy Shores and Bayshore Golf Courses provided that the fees
for golf carts should be ten dollars ($10.00) for eighteen holes and
five dollars ($5.00) for nine holes ; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, at its meeting of April 4, 1979, determined that the fair
and competitive rates appropriate for golf carts would be eleven
dollars ($11.00) for eighteen holes and six dollars ($6.00) for nine
holes; and
WHEREAS, the specifications for the concession contract
in Part B-Provision 6 (d) formerly provided in the last sentence:
"The canvas covering of the electric golf cart storage area must
be replaced within sixty (60) days of contract inception. " ; and
WHEREAS, Marion Recreation Corporation has proposed to
the City Commission to construct a building within which to house
the golf carts; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that it would
be in the best interests of the City to have a permanent building
constructed for the storage of said golf carts; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that it would
be reasonable to build such a building for a cost not to exceed
$25,000.00 which the City shall pay back in four annual installments
in an amount not to exceed $6, 250.00 per year; and

WHEREAS, the title to said building shall revert to the
City of Miami Beach at the end of the concession contract between
Marion Recreation Corporation and the City of Miami Beach;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
1. That the specifications for the concession contract
for the concessions at the Normandy Shores and Bayshore Golf Course
be amended to reflect that the golf cart rates shall be eleven
dollars ($11.00) for eighteen holes and six dollars ($6.00) for
nine holes; and
2. That the specifications for the concession contract
for the concessions at the Normandy Shores and Bayshore Golf Courses ,
Paragraph B-6 (d) shall be amended to provide that the concessionaire
shall build, at a cost not to exceed $25, 000.00, a permanent building
within which to store the golf carts at the Bayshore Golf Course,
and that the City shall pay back the funds expended to build said
building up to the $25, 000.00 limit over a four-year period, and
further that title to said building shall revert to the City at the
end of said concession contract; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Clerk be and they
are hereby authorized to execute the agreement, awarding said con-
tract, as amended, in the name of and on behalf of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida.
