Resolution 79-15894 RESOLUTION NO. 79-15894
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING UNITED NATIONS PROC-
LAMATION OF 1979 AS THE INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF
THE CHILD.
WHEREAS, the United Nations has proclaimed 1979 to be
the International Year of the Child, and
WHEREAS, President Carter has established a national
commission to direct all IYC observances in the United States,
and
WHEREAS, local governments are encouraged to identify
critical issues and begin IYC projects of their own;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach
hereby supports the United Nations proclamation of
1979 as the International Year of the Child.
SECTION 2 : That copies of this resolution shall be forwarded to
the United Nations and such other organizations or
persons as shall be appropriate.
