Resolution 79-15898 RESOLUTION NO. 78-15898 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA REQUESTING THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE AND DEPARTMENT OF TRANS- PORTATION TO FUND CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS TO ARTHUR GODFREY ROAD. WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach has determined to enter into a program for the revitalization of Arthur Godfrey Road; and WHEREAS, as a part of said, revitalization it will be necessary to make roadway improvements and replace certain curbs and gutters, sidewalk base and provide for drainage; said work being part and parcel of the entire project, which includes the foregoing and special landscaping and lighting and other items designed to improve the quality and character of said Arthur Godfrey Road; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is desirous of and in need of assistance in order to fund the cost of the roadway improvements, curb and gutter, sidewalk base and drainage aspects of said revitalization of Arthur Godfrey Road; and WHEREAS THE City of Miami Beach expects to have funds available to it in August or September of 1979 in order to pay those portions of the cost of the revitalization of Miami Beach which it is contemplated would be paid from funds of the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION* OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the State of Florida, its Legislature and Department of Transportation be and they are hereby requested to formally commit funds to the revitalization of Arthur Godfrey Road project, said funds to be used for the purpose of roadway improvements, curbs and gutters, sidewalk base and the provision of drainage and to fund same no later than August or September of 1979, if at all possible, in order that said project may be commenced as quickly and as expeditiously as possible.
