Resolution 79-15904 RESOLUTION NO, 79-15904 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH THE SOUTH FLORIDA EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING CONSORTIUM TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR A DIVISION OF INTERGOVERNMENTAL LIAISON AND COORDINATION. WHEREAS , the City of Miami Beach, by its Resolution 78-15792, adopted December 6 , 1978 entered into a Consortium Agreement with the governments of Dade and Monroe Counties , and the Cities of Miami and Hialeah, and designating the City Manager as official representative to said Consortium, and WHEREAS , said Resolution is in full force and effect, and WHEREAS , said Consortium at its February 23, 1979 meeting, approved funding for its member jurisdictions to establish Intergovernmental ' Coordination and Liaison staffs , and WHEREAS , the execution of a Professional Service Agreement with said Consortium is recommended by the City Manager, and said agreement has been approved by the City Attorney as to legal form and sufficiency , NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Manager be , and is hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver said Agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto , for and in the name of the City of Miami Beach. This office shall provide the ,following Liaison Services: 1. Represent the City of Miami Beach and its interests in SFETC at: a) Meetings convened by the Executive Director, when requested. b) Operations meetings, when requested. c). Liaison meetings and Consortium meetings. d) Planning Council. meetings. 2. At the request of the City of Miami Beach's Consortium Representative, sit in said representative's.- stead, when necessary, at Consortium meetings, it being understood that the City Manager shall generally attend and represent the City of Miami Beach at said meetings. 3. Provide briefings and reports to the City Manager of SFETC Agenda Items, DOL Regulations and Instructions, Congressional Actions, Manpower Planning Council Actions, and such other information as may be appropriate and/or requested.
